The baroque Nativity set

A large Nativity set is built every year at Christmas time in the choir. Not only is its scope large, but so are the figures. On average they are 80 cm tall. They are articulated wooden dolls, some of which are wearing valuable clothes. The origin of the Nativity set is unknown. However, by the look of the figures, it is a Jesuit Nativity set. It possibly came to Hechingen from Rottenburg Jesuit College following the dissolution of the Jesuit order. Before the renovation in 1985, it was built in the side Antonius chapel as a changing Nativity set, today everything is built in the same way.
