The Town Hall as a theatre setting

Once a year, at the Irma West Children and Town Festival, Hechingen Town Hall becomes the stage and setting to a gripping play. The plot of the evening story relates the history of our town interweaved with the history of Fred West, a citizen of Hechingen who emigrated to America in 1872. Following his death, he gave part of his estate to the Town of Hechingen so that they could hold an annual festival for children – in memory of his daughter Irma West, who died at the age of 24.

More information about the festival can be found on the website https://www.irma-west-kinderfest.de/.
